Event Details

The Library will be showing the classic 1939 Comedy-Drama Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. Information on the movie: When idealisic young Jefferson Smith (James Stewart) winds up appointed to the United States Senate, he gains mentorship of Senator Joseph Paine (Claude Rains). Paine isn't as notable as he seems and becomes involved in a scheme to discredit Smith. Determined to stand up against Paine and his corrupt peersm Smith takes his case to the Senate floor.
